for choosing me to photograph your new little mini in his/her first few days of life!!
My studio is in the Highland Mall at 2100 Highland Way, Suite N (outside door between Quizno’s and Riddle’s Jewelry).
my goal at every session is to capture the unique beauty of your newborn in my photographs. To gather a collection of photos that will showcase your baby and your family, as you are, in this season of life.
what to expect:
date/time of the session: when baby is between 6 – 12 days old. Shoot me a message when he or she arrives and we can finalize the exact date and then plan to start at 10:00 am on that day.
before the session: please feed baby prior to arriving, and plan on feeding him/her throughout the rest of the session as needed!
Please dress your baby in a white onesie and we’ll start shooting with that outfit. When you arrive, please leave baby in their carseat and I will pull them out when we’re ready to get started.
during the session: it will be fairly warm in the studio to keep your baby comfortable. Due to this, I come dressed for a warm couple of hours and suggest you do too!
I truly believe babies are perfect just the way they are and my goal is to capture and document those beautiful baby details for you to treasure forever. My newborn portraits are timeless, authentic, and natural. My style of posing is very much baby-led. I don’t expect them to sleep or behave in any particular way. I simply allow them to be the sweet, perfect, newborn that they are, because that is how you will want to remember him/her. I do have props/wraps/backgrounds that are very neutral in color that can be used to photograph baby, but if you have something of sentimental value to you that you would like to use…please bring it!
Sessions generally last around 2 hours, sometimes longer if baby is hungry! If you can, bring the pacifier the hospital sent you home with. It’s the bendable, green/blue/orangish one, and won’t leave marks around their mouth. Even if you haven’t used one, just for the 2 hours that I’m working with him/her usually really helps. If you don’t happen to have one, I keep unopened paci’s here in the studio. However if you really prefer that we don’t use one, that’s fine as well!
I highly recommend mom & dad doing pictures with your sweet new bundle. This moment/time in life goes by too quickly so take a little breather and capture this moment with your little one! If you would like to do pictures with your sweet one I recommend neutral colors (black, white, ivory, brown) nothing with wild patterns or logs that would distract from the baby!
